Flyga Twiga Selected as International Hosted Buyer for World Travel Market Africa 2017 #WTMA2017
Flyga Twiga LLC has been selected by the World Travel Market Africa 2017 (WTMA 2017) as an International Hosted Buyer. The WTMA 2017 will take place in Cape Town, South Africa from the 19th through 22nd of April.
According to the World Travel Market Africa, “World Travel Market delivers the leading global events for the travel industry. One of six shows in the WTM portfolio, our Africa show was launched in 2014 to bring the benefits and opportunities of our global industry expertise to travel professionals in this region.
Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, nearly 5000 travel industry professionals attend Africa’s leading and only business to business (B2B) exhibition for inbound and outbound Africa travel and tourism markets.”
The WTMA 2017, in conjunction with Cape Town Tourism, offers Familiarization (Fam) Trips of the Host City, Cape Town. Flyga Twiga will attend the “Art, Chocolates & Gin” Fam Trip. This will include touring the new Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) site. Zeitz MOCAA, “a partnership between the V&A Waterfront and Jochen Zeitz, is the first major museum in Africa dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its Diaspora, and also the first African institution to acknowledge new mediums through the establishment of different centres and institutes within the overall museum.”
Following the Zeitz MOCAA tour, the Fam Trip will continue at Honest Chocolate kitchen located in the Woodstock Exchange. “Honest Chocolate is a small artisanal chocolate company and they apply old school methods, using quality organically produced ingredients and making a pure chocolate that has a deliciously distinct feel and taste.”
The Fam Trip tour includes viewing the unique and thriving Street Art in one of Cape Town’s oldest suburbs, Woodstock. The tour of Cape Town concludes with “Hope on Hopkins, the Mother City’s first distillery, in the heart of industrial Salt River. Hope on Hopkins Distillery is a small artisanal distillery that prides itself on truly crafting its own spirits. Unlike many gin distillers they don’t buy in the base spirit to flavour, but prefer to make it themselves, so that you know where it (and the carefully sourced quality ingredients) comes from.
The group will participate in an interactive Gin tasting experience. The distillery will be providing guests with tasting trays with tasters of 4 different gins, together with tonic, ice and glasses and then guide the guests through how to pour and garnish their own G&Ts.”
